"This was not only a meeting of the minds but a meeting of intent, with lack of ego and irreverent humour as the luscious icing on the cake.”

It was cold, I was camping, but I have not felt so mentally invigorated since my uni days.

Status was stripped from all, as there is only so much one can 'dress to impress' wearing heavy coats and beanies.

The talks are set in tight bunches and we were herded like naughty school children, so as to attend ontime. Brilliant engineering in that you became part of the team. The boat sails and you are on the high seas together.

All meals were prepared to ridiculously high standards – organic, subtle yet chunky. The wine was too good (Hungerford Hill Pinot for me) but luckily the high altitude kept any hangovers to a happy reminder to drink more water with every coffee on the following day.

Workshops, discos, debating around fires (early morning yoga and ornithological adventures for the early riser – but not for me), live auctions, Payne's Hut and clean fresh air.

I made connections with people that I will keep for life. One of my favourite moments was sharing a series of lewd jokes amongst a group of us that seemed to gather as the sun went down – an executive with a national gambling division, the owner of a well acclaimed wine brand, a statistical analytic advisor preaching peace to government bodies around the world and me, the creative director of a small design company.

I am an inherently cynical person that constantly subjugates positivity for accident but my jaded prudence was evicted. This was not only a meeting of the minds but a meeting of intent, with lack of ego and irreverent humour as the luscious icing on the cake.

I will finish my positive rant with the definition borrowed from Wikipedia.

'FLOW is the mental state of operation in which a person performing an activity is fully immersed in afeeling of energised focus, full involvement and enjoyment in the process of the activity.”
