Apply For A Giving Chair
If you have an idea that could change the world ... we might have a chair for you.
This isn’t just any chair. This year we’re sending two inspired people with corker ideas to the first ever DO Lectures Australia.
The idea doesn’t need to be big, it could be beautifully simple. Maybe you’re doing it already, or you’ve got it scribbled down on the back of an envelope.
You don’t need to be an inventor or a world leader - just passionate.
If you’re the kind of person who is ready to step out, share, dream and DO, Dick Smith and Wildwon are sponsoring two Giving Chairs at DO Lectures Australia because they want to invest in you and your idea.
To apply to be sitting in the Dick Smith or Wildwon Giving Chair come April you need to create a 2 minute video telling us about your burning idea and why you (and your idea) need to be at the first ever DO Lectures Australia. Be as creative as you like with format and content of your video - just make it 120 seconds of all-absorbing viewing.
The deadline for submissions is Sunday 13 April 2014.
If you're looking for inspiration - check out this Pinterest board of past entries.
Then, drop us a line at Be@DoLectures.com.au; being sure to include information such as your name, date of birth, whether you're a student or entrepreneur, your twitter handle, your instagram handle, and your website URL (if you have one).
To be chosen for a Giving Chair you must be a student (18 years old or above) OR an entrepreneur OR an ideas person who financially can't afford DO while you're making your big idea happen.
Giving Chair recipients will receive a place at Do Lectures Australia valued at $3000 +GST and will find their own way to Payne's Hut, Victoria.
You'll also record your experience at Do Lectures Australia and create a final piece of content for Do Lectures Australia.
What You'll DO While You're There.
In addition to hearing great talks, eating stunning food, enjoying beautiful surroundings and having amazing conversations you will ...
- Film and photograph some of what you DO and the people you see at DO.
- Speak to people at Do and conduct interviews about what DO means to them.
- Record what’s happening.
- Edit your film and/or photo film with interviews, and return it to us within 4 weeks of the event, so we can share your experience with the world.
- Afterwards, join the teams at Wildwon or Dick Smith to talk about your time at DO.
